The Appalachian Mountains became her home in 1988, where she quickly noticed a different way of life in comparison to her hometown of Atlanta. The value system in the mountainous region is rooted with strong faith in many aspects of the people’s lifestyle. This existence gave way to this artist expressing the seriousness of hard labor and survival. Inspired by the jars that housed the Dead Sea Scrolls, the unearthing of ancient stoneware gave purpose and direction to Linda’s pottery talent. In her work, she tries to show a sense of love, compassion and respect for the land and its people. |
